Bowls England Rules shall apply to all matches, competitions etc.
However, Local Rules on these domestic matters only, shall be followed by Members.
- Player’s lists for Friendly, League and Representative Matches will be placed on the Notice Board two weeks prior to such events, and ALL Members are expected to make themselves available for as many matches as possible, so that the Club is well represented. Those offering themselves for away matches will receive preferential consideration for home matches. All Members should if possible make themselves available for at least two matches per month.
- Teams will be selected from the names on the Players lists, by a Selection Committee formed for the Men by the Captain, Vice-Captain, Match Secretary, Competition Secretary and one other. For the Ladies, The Captain, Vice-Captain, Match Secretary and one other.
- Team lists will be posted and acceptance of position is to be indicated by those selected. Withdrawals MUST BE NOTIFIED TO A MEMBER OF THE SELECTION COMMITTEE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. If traveling direct to any away match, this should be clearly indicated.
- Team Members must report to the Captain of the day, 30 minutes before a Home Match, and the time stated on the team sheet for away matches. Reserves must attend at the green, or pick-up point if an away match, 30 minutes before the start of match or departure. If a Reserve fills a vacancy, his/her position is substantive.
- DRESS to be worn when reporting for matches - MEN - Navy blue blazer with Club Badge on breast pocket, white shirt, Club tie, grey trousers and brown or black shoes. LADIES - Navy blue blazer with Club Badge on breast pocket, white top, white skirt/trousers and navy shoes.
a. For all matches starting before 6.00pm; MEN - White trousers and socks, white top or Club shirt. Brown, white or grey bowling shoes. Belts if worn to be white, no braces visible. After match, return to blazer and Club tie. LADIES - White top, white skirt/trousers. Brown, white or grey bowling shoes.
b. For all matches starting from 6.00pm; MEN - White shirt, Club tie, grey trousers and brown or grey bowling shoes. LADIES - White top, blue skirt or trousers, brown or grey bowling shoes.
c. For casual play as (b) - no Club tie required to be worn.
- Players are required to affix Club stickers to their bowls.
7. All over clothes shall be white. Hats or caps may be worn. NOTE: Improper dress may result in offending Member being debarred.
CHILD PROTECTION POLICY
The Herne Bay Bowling Club recognises and accepts its obligations to protect and safeguard the welfare of all children and vulnerable adults participating in its activities. Anyone who has concerns regarding such participation should contact the club’s Junior Liaison Officer or his assistant.
